Sydney Uni Live (Open Day) - Saturday 26 August

The annual Sydney Uni Live is taking place on Saturday 26 August. Stalls, lectures, workshops and info sessions representing all Faculties and Departments from across the University will be taking place for all prospective students interested in undertaking tertiary studies in 2007.

Koori Centre staff will be on hand to provide info on our Special Entry (Cadigal) Program, Block-mode courses, Support Facilities etc.

National Indigenous Student Games

The next Indigenous Student Games are being held in Brisbane at Griffith University between 20 - 24 September.

Carla McGrath is spearheading the team this year and is wanting to hear from any students wishing to make up the Sydney Uni team of 14.

Once an idea of numbers has been established, training sessions (yes - training sessions!) will be organised and the team will be well on the way of climbing out of the 2nd last place achieved by last years mob.

2005 Dr Charles Perkins AO Memorial Oration and Prize

To commemorate the fifth anniversary of the establishment Dr Charles Perkins AO Annual Memorial Oration and Prize, an eminent panel of three speakers will discuss issues relating to Vision, Leadership and Future.

Special presentation by Mr Jeff McMullen - Yooroang Garang

On Tuesday 18th October, Yooroang Garang will be hosting a special presentation by Mr Jeff McMullen. This talk will be held in the common lunch hour in Lecture Room E101. Jeff works as CEO (gratis) of Ian Thorpe's Fountain for Youth Trust, supports the Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation in Jawoyn country, has an ambassadorial role for the Fred Hollows Foundation as he helped develop their NT programs, and with his partner works closely with the Australian Indigenous Doctors's Association.

2005 Sea of Hands

This years Sea of Hands was another success and everyone involved had a great time. We thank Antar for their support, Deb Lennis for another wonderful design, everyone who planted a Hand in the name of Reconciliation and those brave souls who helped with the setting up and taking down of this years installation.
